Vinnies

Last of all at the top of the list of places to visit in Toowoomba is easily Vinnies. Vinnies are number one when it comes to affordable second hand items, and as if it couldn't get better, everything you buy or donate goes towards charity. 


Crows Nest National Park

The Crows Nest National Park has amazing scenery and spectacular creek views overlooking the Crows Nest Falls. The park also has multiple walking tracks classed to match your experience and fitness walking trails. 


The park is also a popular area for camping, however keep in mind a camping permit is required.

Picnic Point

Picnic point is the perfect place to go for a relaxing walk or simply just a nice meal. The venue features a cafe, hosts weddings and functions, a children's playground, and also has beautiful views. 

The cafe is open 7 days a week, and serves dinner from 5 in the afternoon
on Friday and Saturday. When the cafe isn't serving dinner, it is perfect to come in and have a fabulous meal, or maybe just a nice cup of coffee or ice cream. 



Ravensbourne National Park

Ravensbourne National Park is situated on the great dividing range between Toowoomba and Esk. The national park is perfect for a bush picnic, walk through the rainforest, or bird watching. The park also features a lookout with a panoramic view towards Brisbane. 
The park also has 4 classified walking tracks of different distances to suit your experience and fitness, each containing different species of trees, plants and more. 

Cooby Dam

Cooby Dam offers fun activities for everyone in the family, such as fishing, sailing, canoeing, or maybe just a relaxing picnic. The dam also has a children's playground and toilet blocks. Cooby is only a short 35 kilometre drive from Toowoomba.

Cobb and Co Museum

Opened in 1987, the Cobb and Co Museum exhibits an extensive range of over 50 vehicles from the horse-drawn era including many different types of wagons, carts, and carriages that tell the story of European settlement in Toowoomba. 
The museum also had an eight million dollar  refurbishment/redevelopment in 2010 changing the aesthetic look of the museum, while also adding many new galleries.

Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery

The Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery is host to a wide variety of artwork from contemporary to historical. Contemporary exhibits on the ground floor are changed monthly, and historical exhibitions are located on the first floor of the gallery and change every 3-4 months. 


The gallery also offers a shop full of unique artworks and gift ideas, such as paintings, glassware, pottery, Indigenous art and more.

Ju Raku En Japanese Gardens

Toowoomba's "Ju Raku En" Japanese Gardens are the perfect place for a tranquil and relaxing stroll. Being Australia's largest traditionally designed Japanese garden at four and a half hectares, it is the perfect place to just lose yourself in for couple of hours. 

The gardens are located on the northern side of the University of Southern Queensland, and are free to enter. 





Grand Central

Grand Central is Toowoomba's biggest shopping centre, containing over 100 stores with everything you could want ranging from clothes and shoes to food and books, and even a 6 screen cinema.











The shopping centre is open from 9am to 5:30pm on all weekdays except for Thursday, when it is open from 9am to 9pm. On Saturday it is open from 9am to 5pm, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Queens Park

Queens park is a picturesque heritage listed botanic garden/park that was built between 1875 and 1970. The park is 26.3 hectares, and contains large areas of grass for sporting activities, a children's playground area, and an expansive garden area.

The park is also often host to many community events, such as the Carnival of Flowers, the Food and Wine Festival, and the Languages and Cultures Festival.

The Empire Theatre

Built in 1911, the Empire Theatre has been host to countless performances, entertaining a whole range of people for over 100 years.
Well known for its stunning classic architecture the theater continues to grow in popularity even today, with something entertaining always on. The theater was also heritage listed in 1994. A night out at the Empire is a great opportunity if you want a chance to witness some of the best in drama, comedy, music and more.
